HANDLE WITH CARE
The following images are stills from a video project for the exposition "Prikkels" at Buitenplaats Doornburg in Maarssen. Silvana Hurtado Dianderas is a Peruvian artist that curated an exposition reflecting on HDHD and neurodivergent behaviour in women.
This triptych or “trilogy” if you will, represents the three different stages the artist often finds herself in: rest, anxiety and in search of dopamine.
You can see the artist giving herself a manicure – a ritual she often partakes in to clean up her hands and picked skin and to take care of her wounds to prevent herself from further harming them. Paradoxically, her hands are her most priced possession as an artist.
